Around the age of 40, I began experiencing symptoms of osteoarthritis, primarily affecting the joints in my fingers and wrists, particularly my thumbs. This condition brought along the persistent discomfort associated with simple tasks like using a pincer grip and gradually changed the shape of my hands and fingers.
As a left-hander, I had always struggled with right-handed tools and products. However, when arthritis entered the picture, this became even more challenging.
As my children grew into adulthood, I found myself with more free time and began contemplating ways to occupy myself as the empty nest loomed. An idea struck me on a particularly painful day when I struggled to use a right-handed pair of scissors, causing my hand to ache, followed by the discomfort of twisting my hand to operate a right-handed can opener.
In that moment, I made a decision that would ignite my passion: I would create a business focused on offering ergonomic, left-handed products tailored for people like me.
Today, I proudly offer a range of products designed to enhance accessibility and independence for left-handers of all ages. Drawing from personal experience, I can attest to the physical and mental benefits of using tools specifically crafted for the left hand.
With my left-handed can opener, my wrist remains comfortably straight, making it not only easier but also more comfortable to use.
