After much discussion Arthritis New Zealand has decided to cancel both our Teens camp in January and the Family camp in February. This decision has been taken because of continuing uncertainty around COVID-19 restrictions, particularly around inter-regional travel.

We are also conscious of our responsibilities to provide a safe environment for all who come to camps as these involve a number of children and young people who are immune compromised. We have concluded that at this time we simply cannot be assured of this.

We are acting with “an abundance of caution” as we feel cancellation of both camps is the most responsible course of action in the circumstances.

This decision will be of great disappointment to the teens and families who find camp such a wonderful and valuable experience. Accordingly, we will be exploring other options for activities for teens and families during the year- we will announce these as soon as we can.
