Why arthritis workplace education matters
More than 750,000 New Zealanders live with arthritis, and nearly half are of working age. Some may not yet have a diagnosis, while others are navigating pain, fatigue, and limited mobility alongside their day-to-day duties.
Workplaces that are equipped with practical knowledge and inclusive practices are better positioned to retain skilled staff, reduce absenteeism, and foster a culture of wellbeing. By offering arthritis workplace education, your organisation can:
- Better support staff living with arthritis
- Encourage early intervention and health-seeking behaviour
- Build a more inclusive and compassionate workplace
- Strengthen your organisation’s commitment to employee health
This work reflects our values of Tautoko (support) and Whānau Oranga (self-determined wellbeing), while helping employers take a proactive role in workplace wellness.
