The Sharp NZ - Arthritis NZ Golf Day, held in April, raised record revenue of more than $21,000 for our camps and day programmes for children, teenagers and families.
This year our Arthritis NZ Ambassador and international cricket umpire, Billy Bowden, was a feature of the day. His high-energy and enthusiasm on hole 3, where golfers paid him to do a shot, raised around $900. He also donated a signed ball and cap which raised $4000 at the auction. This year our Arthritis Assist service set up a table at the golf club, which is situated next to a retirement village, which attracted good attention from visitors from the Village and the golf club.
Thank you to Sharp NZ for again supporting the day through providing food, organisation and personpower on the day. We couldn’t do it without you. Thank you also to our generous community of supporters who donated items for the raffles, prizes and auctions, and to the golfers who gave generously during the many opportunities to donate on the course and during the prize giving celebrations. Thanks also to auctioneer Ian Klinac for maximising opportunities to fundraise for the work of Arthritis NZ during the prize giving evening.
