South Island born and bred, Tessa works as a Registered Nurse in a small private hospital. She was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis as a child and has lived experience of managing arthritis from a young age.
Supported by Arthritis New Zealand in her early years, Tessa now gives back by volunteering at national Teen and Family Camps, helping other young people navigate life with arthritis, and as our Youth Trustee.
In her nursing role, Tessa supports patients with osteoarthritis—especially those undergoing joint replacements—by guiding their recovery and helping them get the most from their new joints. She finds this work incredibly rewarding and is passionate about improving quality of life through care and education.
Outside of work, Tessa enjoys spending time with her close-knit circle of friends and family.
