Professor David Hunter is a rheumatology clinician researcher whose main focus has been research on osteoarthritis. He is regarded as a world expert on osteoarthritis and was a key
adviser in the developments of New South Wales managing the Osteoarthritis Chronic Care Programme. This programme saw a reduction in surgical waitlists for joint replacement – especially for knee replacements.

While in New Zealand Prof. Hunter will present on:

  • The social and economic impact of osteoarthritis;
  • Approaches to improve management and treatment of osteoarthritis; and
  • How a reduction in surgical waitlists for joint replacement was achieved in New South Wales.
