What we do

Arthritis New Zealand Services

arthritis education

Our arthritis educators provide education and interventions to help people manage their arthritis. These include telephone support, seminars, webinars and education through other digital platforms.

government lobbying

We raise awareness about arthritis and promote your needs at every level. We engage with policy makers over issues that affect people with arthritis, and we partner with others to work together in your best interests.

teen and children's camp

We run Teens Camp for teenagers with arthritis and use a mentoring system to teach some of them to be โ€œyouth leadersโ€ for the Children’s Camp, which seesย children with arthritis, their caregivers, and siblings attend. Camp is a safe environment for fun physical activities like archery, raft building, kayaking, and much more.

funding research

Each year we fund a range of research with the overriding aim โ€œimproving the life of every person affected by arthritisโ€. Some of these are ‘Summer scholarships’ in health research related to arthritis and are available to promising students wishing to be involved in a research project over the summer vacation.
