The 2023 Teens Camp is taking place at Waikanae beach, Kapiti Coast from 27 to 29 January 2023
There will be 20 teenagers taking part in 11 awesome activities including mini golf, go-karts, orienteering, swimming, soft
archery, raft building, and more.
The camp is co-organised by the Youth Advisory team, many of whom have attended camp in the past. There will be youth-led workshops and engaging activities to make life-long connections with new friends on a similar journey.
Among other guest speakers will be Nicola Gray (rheumatology nurse specialist) and Phillip Kearney, CE of Arthritis NZ.
Attending the camps is free of charge for teens as Arthritis NZ covers the costs including flights to the centre, so teens from
around the country can access these fantastic opportunities.
After camp, the Teens are encouraged to stay connected through regular online youth group meetings, forming a support network for children diagnosed with JIA and other rare autoimmune conditions.
