That's one in every six people over the age of 15 years - or, one in every three people over the age of 45 years!

There are over 140 different types of Arthritis and these can affect people of all ages - from babies and toddlers right through to those in their adult years. In fact, there are many children and young people under the age of 18 affected by arthritis in New Zealand.

Arthritis New Zealand offers an extensive information and education service. Our role is to share what we have learned so that you are better able to manage your arthritis.

Not only does Arthritis New Zealand promote the awareness of arthritis across the country, we also advocate at national and local government levels for improved services including lobbying on issues of medication subsidies and increased rheumatology services for people affected by arthritis.

A network of Service Centres and Arthritis Educators, provided by Arthritis New Zealand, are available to assist you to learn more about your condition and its management. These health professionals will teach you about medication, exercise and diet while also giving advice and support. This service is free and confidential, click service centres.
